Asia Culture House celebrated International Youths Day by a cultural event on 13th August, 2015. The function was organized in Asia Culture House’s exhibition hall in Kabul and was widely appreciated by the audience.
The event was inaugurated with a music performance by a young guitarist. It was then followed by a speech by Abbas Farasu-young civil society activist- who spoke about condition of youths in Afghanistan. It was then followed by question and answer session hosted by a young female member of Culture House. The questions were about youth and its position in contemporary Afghan Society.
The day was celebrated for the first time in West Kabul, making it uniquely interesting for the youngsters. Users of social media widely acknowledged the function.
Asia Culture House’s intention by organizing the event was to attract attentions to this section of Afghan society. Youths make a very large ration of Afghanistan’s population-almost 50%. However, they have limited access to platforms through which they could make their voices heard.
